Sample Schedule
Day 1
An introductory horsemanship day. Students will get to meet their instructors and horses for the week and get a facility tour. They will get a horse safety talk and will spend the rest of their session getting to be hands on with the horses. Beginners will learn how to catch, halter, groom, saddle and comfortably lead their horses through an obstacle course.
Unique for Spring session- Riding time will occur every day and will be tailored to rider abilities and goals!
Day 2-3
The next sessions will build on the first! In pairs, students will be able to use their new skills from Day 1 and will get to catch, halter, and saddle their horses on their own under the supervision of an instructor. The students will be split off into small groups and while one group is taking a riding lesson, the other group will get to have hands on time with the horses and learn about various topics including veterinary care, anatomy and nutrition. Beginner riders will learn how to safely mount, steer and stop their horses. Once they are comfortable with the basics, the rest of the lesson will be tailored to their individual needs.
